Seedling Blight in Watermelon
SYMPTOMS
Watermelon seedlings develop water-soaked, brown lesions at or near the soil line, causing the stems to constrict and the seedlings to fall over and die (damping-off). In nurseries or after transplanting, patches of collapsed seedlings indicate seedling blight, often accompanied by white fungal growth at the base.
