Thrips in Watermelon

SYMPTOMS

Thrips cause silvery streaking, scarring, and distortion of watermelon leaves and flowers by rasping and sucking plant tissue. Infested growing tips may be stunted and deformed, and thrips also transmit Tomato Spotted Wilt Virus causing mosaic and necrotic ring symptoms on leaves and fruit.
