Katyayani BPH Super Pymetrozine 50% WG Insecticide for Paddy

Katyayani BPH Super is a Pymetrozine 50% WG insecticide for brown planthopper (BPH) in paddy and hoppers in mango. It is a water-dispersible granule with systemic and translaminar action, meant for sucking hoppers. It is a granule, so its dose is in grams per acre, not ml. Use it for hoppers and do not expect it to control caterpillars or borers.

BPH Super is for hopper pests on two crops.

• Paddy: brown planthopper, white-backed planthopper, green leafhoppe
• Mango: hoppers
• The label also says it targets all life stages of aphids and whiteflies

The label dose is 120 to 150 g per acre as a foliar spray, for both paddy and mango.

• In paddy, hoppers sit at the base of the plant. Agricultural university guidance is to drain the field water before spraying and direct the spray towards the base of the plants.
• Spray when hoppers first appear, before circular patches of hopperburn (drying and yellowing) show up.
• Retail advisories for pymetrozine 50 WG suggest timing the paddy spray around panicle initiation, about 55 to 60 days after transplanting. Check your leaflet for the exact schedule and number of sprays.
• Spray in the early morning or evening and avoid spraying just before rain.
